Printable Freebie!

We are so excited for winter themed Tot School, I decide to share this freebie!!

Hayden is working on matching the upper case and lower case letters, so I only cut the snowman into two parts. But if your child is ready to match beginning sounds, it can be cut into thirds!

ENJOY! :)

Tot School Thanksgiving

This was another short week of Tot School due to Thanksgiving, but we got a few turkey themed activities in!!!

Hayden is 22 months.

Our feathered turkey was perfect for fine motor practice. I punched holes in the back, and he stuck in the feathers.

I love my circle punch!!! It was perfect for making our color matching turkey! I wanted to put this on contact paper, but it worked on the floor as well! :)

Tot School Food Week

This was not our most successful week of Tot School! We were busy getting ready for Thanksgiving travels, but we managed to fit in a few activities!

Alphabet Soup

Giant puzzle of food and letters! He had to match the play food to the picture from an ad.

We love our Learning Resources Pie , so we used a few pieces to work on simple patterns.

He LOVES Laura Numeroff books so we read If You Give a Cat a Cupcake and then read this poem from Spelloutloud.com

He loved feeding the cupcakes to the cat, and matching the cupcakes to the poem!

We made puffy paint (equal parts shaving cream and glue and a bit of food coloring) and painted a cupcake.

We read a lot of the Laura Numeroff books, but one of his faves is If You Give a Mouse a Cookie! He is great at counting to 10, but we are working on numbering to 10, so this puzzle was perfect!

He is flipping his cookies! Each cookie has a picture from the story, and the beginning sound on the back.

Tot School Opposties Week

 Opposites Week!

Hayden is 21 months old!

We always raid our book stash for theme related books, and then gather some from the  library too! He amazes me with his memorization skills-- he had almost ALL of these books memorized by the end of the week!

Sorting BIG vs SMALL animals

These were a Target dollar bin find awhile back, and he did great matching the opposites!

This activity wasn't planned, but ended up as one of the favorites! If the car went backwards it went very slowly down the ramp. We talked about high / low, fast/slow, up/down, go/stop.

STOP and GO- we played just  like red light, green light!

BIG and SMALL handprints

Long and short was a concept he wasn't familiar with--- so this little dog helped!

Light vs. Dark Q-tip painting

Day and Night sort

Then we did a day and night painting! We stamped stars using the plastic star from our shape sorter and then we made a sun by cutting a toilet paper tube.

He went on an opposites hunt! I printed these awesome owl opposites flash cards and then cut them in half! He gathered the cards, and matched up the pairs of opposites!

Construction Tot School

He is 21 months old!

This week, we went with his FAVORITE theme: construction! Not like we didn't have enough books laying around to fit this theme, but here are some great finds from the library!

We made some dirt dough to dig in! I added WAY too much water so he called this his cement! It did eventually dry out, and he loved playing with this all week!

Construction truck stickers! He can't peel the stickers off yet, so I put them on the side of the tray!

A little bulldozer coloring!

Transportation matching game from The Measured Mom!

I'm always looks for new things that he can use to play with his trucks! Dollar tree rocks + paint markers = alphabet rocks at the construction site!

Nothing more simple, or FUN than a ramp!

This was not planned for this week, but he specifically asked for the water beads!

Royal Baloo has some awesome construction movement cards!

I love any activity involving early literacy! I made tunnels out of construction paper, wrote some letters on them, and taped them down!

Matching up construction trucks using a magnifying glass!

This was the BEST toy purchase I have EVER made (I'm being so serious)! These little trucks were about $6 at Target and they go EVERYWHERE with him!

Hammer in the golf tees!

Outline shape puzzle using tools and trucks!

Shape truck puzzles!`

The Measured Mom has this great dump truck printable!
